Barely lived two decades, viewed every scene
Two different wars, seeing pregnant teens
Politicians showing pics of their crotch
While others only sit their and watch
Bullets fly, fighting for an ounce of crack
Still young, hoping there's a second act
Only to the devil pulling all the strings
And the actions of man and what it brings
Sad to say, we live in our very own hell
There's no escape, fighting tooth and nail
I believe theirs a better place for us
But people only see the tree, not the forest
Told me I was wasting time and breathe
Only truth that's ever told, is after death
Then do we figure out what we're worth
As your family put you in the earth
You only got one life
Don't let it pass you by
You may fly, or fry
All you have to do is try
He talks to me, only to spurn him
Redoubling his efforts with fortune
Promising fame, and half naked women
Too good to be true, while wounds mend
Temptation with a costly price to pay
Others take the bait, souls up for trade
He can tempt me with money and power
Dares my innocence to be deflowered
He can take my mother and father
Prevent me from having a daughter
A place for all to enter and witness
For every soul without his sickness
Only hope I do enough to make it
While everyone else tries to fake it
Make haste, for you might not enter
Only made to burn like dry timber
You only got one life
Don't let it pass you by
You may fly, or fry
All you have to do is try
